Handcrafted to order from solid White Pine

Each desk bears a unique hand-burned design created by the artist using pyrography. The design is then hand-painted, followed by the application of a stain and protective finish. Our lap desks are a convenient way to organize and store writing materials, keepsakes, linens, and other cherished items. The portability of the desk allows one to take it from room to room, or even outdoors.

History of Lap Desks: The lap desk is a smaller variant of the antique writing slope, also known as a writing box or writing cabinet. In modern form, the lap desk is primarily used in bed, as a bed desk, and in other circumstances where a portable desk is desired. From lap desks, has come the concept of the briefcase, as a carrier for papers and a portable writing place, and thus evolved the laptop computer.
